Thank You America
A Day of Appreciation to the Soldiers of Freedom and Democracy
Santa
Clara County, CA – On Sunday, September 18, 2011, the
Vietnamese-American community is hosting Thank You America: “A Day of
Appreciation to The Soldiers of Freedom and Democracy.” The event
details are as follows:
- Sunday, September 18, 2011
- 2pm to 3:30 pm
- 675 Story Road, San Jose, CA 95122
- Program & Activities: Ceremony, Speeches, Appreciation with commemorating plaques, and Live Vietnamese Music Concert
- Will be attended by Supervisor Dave Cortese, US Major General Eldon P. Regua, Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, State Assembly Members Nora Campos, Jim Beall and Paul Fong, city councils, veterans, business leaders, community leaders, and members of the public.
After the Fall of Sai-Gon in 1975, Vietnamese people emigrated to the United States of America and settled in different parts of the country to begin their new journey as free Vietnamese people. They feel fortunate to live in a country that promotes peace and prosperity, protects human rights through the support of public officials, and ensures the safety and well-being of its people through the service of the Armed Forces.
For
the past 36 years, the United States of America has been embracing the
Vietnamese-American community and allowing the community to thrive and
contribute immensely to the advancement of their community, the County
of Santa Clara and the nation in the areas of art, music, science,
education and business.
